Department of Human Resource Studies
The Department of Human Resource Studies within the
Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, headed by Professor Jaap Paauwe,
is a well-established department with a strong reputation spanning two
decades for being the only university in the Netherlands to offer both
a Bachelors and Masters program in HR Studies. The department is also
developing a strong reputation in research, with academic links to Cornell
University in the USA and King’s College, London in the UK, supporting
the team of academic staff based at Tilburg carrying out high quality
research. Our Masters program has developed strong thematic modules based
on our areas of specialism: Human Resource Studies, Human Metrics & Valuation,
Strategic Human Resource Development, Diversity Management, and International
HRM. Our impressive team of academics includes Professors Jaap Paauwe
(HRM and performance), Rob Poell (HRD), Patrick Wright (SHRM), Rene Schalk
(work and well-being), Riccardo Peccei (performance and well-being),
and associate-professors Paul Boselie (SHRM) and Marc van Veldhoven (labor
and health).

Assistant Professor in Human Resource Studies
(full-time, tenure track)

The HR Studies department is looking for an enthusiastic
new team member who is excellent in both teaching and research. To extend
the department’s current range of expertise, we are particularly
keen to recruit an Assistant Professor whose main focus is on Strategic
HRM (possibly with special interest in HR and technology) and/or on International
HRM. Applicants should be particularly strong in quantitative research
techniques. The post will involve teaching (50% of your time) on both
Bachelors and Masters programs, supervising Master’s theses as
well as developing your own research activities (50% of your time) in
line with department’s research program (http://www.tilburguniversity.nl/faculties/fsw/departments/HRS/research/).
For the candidate with appropriate additional experience
and achievements, appointment at Associate Professor level may be possible.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a PhD in HRM, business management
or social sciences and have a strong publication and teaching record.
You will need to be fluent in both written and spoken English and possess
excellent presentation and communication skills.
Terms Of Employment
Tilburg University
is among the top Dutch employers and has an excellent policy concerning
terms of employment. The collective employment terms and conditions
for Dutch universities will apply. The appointment
will be made on a four-year tenure track, with the possibility of tenure
thereafter. The salary for the position of an Assistant Professor on
a full-time basis ranges between 3195 Euro and 4374 Euro gross per
month. Overseas candidates can apply for a tax-free allowance equal
to 30% of their taxable salary.
